Am I the last Gang of Youths fan to make this connection?

From “Magnolia”:

Show me the way, oh, show me the light

From “What Can I Do…”:

Can you still show me the way?
Can you still show me a light?

Surely it’s intentional, don’t you think? In “Magnolia,” it comes right after he says heaven isn’t going to take him, so he’s staggering home. It sounds like he might be talking to friends/cops/whomever, but it could also be he’s talking to God – praying for guidance home.

There’s no way tonight, as far as I know
That heaven will take me, so I’m staggering home
Show me the way, oh, show me the light

In “What Can I Do…,” the whole song is practically Dave talking to God.

Can you still show me the way?
Can you still show me a light?
'Cause I was only a kid
When I fell and you tossed me aside, hey

Kinda can’t believe I never noticed that before, but the two songs came on almost back-to-back yesterday and the proverbial light went off above my head.
